Telecentric Scanning Lenses
|
Telecentric scanning lenses are specially designed scanning lens in order to make the focused beam is always perpendicular to the flat focal plane regardless of the beam¡¯s position in the scan lens. This is accomplished by making the exit pupil of the lens system far away enough in the imaging space. |
Telecentric scanning lens has special advantages in minimizing spot distortion and drill angle. It¡¯s widely used in critical laser marking applications and drilling holes through a material. A typical application is electronics microvia drilling. |
The design of telecentric scanning lens is usually more complex than f-theta scanning lens. Since at least one element will be larger than the field size to be scanned, only small scanning field sizes are possible in practical application. |
